Keikogi

Also known simply as the "Gi", (pronounced "Gee"), the Keikogi is similar to a judo or other martial arts jacket but is usually thicker for the purposes of Kendo. It is double breasted and tied with two pairs of small himo tied in two places, underneath on the left and on top on the right, both in a small bow. It is donned before the Hakama.

As with Hakama colours are traditional Indigo Blue, White and Black. The sleeves are three quarter length to help with free arm movement, and the material is designed to absorb sweat and some of the force of an inaccurate cut from your opponent.

Prices are from around £30 to well over £100 for the best quality double lined Gi.
